Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

The privacy of your data — and it is your data, not ours! — is a big deal to us. In this policy we lay out what we collect and why, how your data is handled, and your rights. We never sell your data: never have, never will.

This policy covers SignupView account holders (organizers) and visitors to our site. If you signed up on someone's sheet as a guest, the “Guests” section below is written for you.

What we collect and why

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. In practice, that means:

  • Identity and access. When you create an account, we ask for your name and email address so you can sign in and we can send you essential, service-related email. We don't send marketing email, and we won't use your name in marketing statements without your permission.
  • Billing information. If you subscribe to Pro, your card details go directly to our payment processor, Stripe — they never touch SignupView's servers. We keep a record of your subscription status for account history and support.
  • Product content. We store the sheets, blocks, and settings you create, and the signups guests submit to your sheets, for as long as your account is active. That's the service.
  • Website interactions. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and records aggregated, anonymized page-view data — no cross-site tracking, no advertising profiles. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and fraud prevention.
  • Product usage. We record events about how you use the service — for example, creating or publishing a sheet, hitting a plan limit, or upgrading — associated with your account, to improve the product and power features like sheet statistics. This is first-party only: no third-party analytics vendor, no advertising profiles, and no cross-site tracking.
  • Cookies. We use only strictly necessary cookies — the ones that keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers, so there is no cookie consent banner to click through.
  • Voluntary correspondence. When you email us for help, we keep the correspondence and your email address so we have history to reference if you reach out again.
  • Support assistant. Conversations with the in-app AI support assistant are stored and may be reviewed by us to improve its answers and the product. The assistant is only available to signed-in organizers — don't include information you wouldn't put in a support email. Messages are sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate responses.

Guests: signing up on someone's sheet

When you sign up on a published sheet, the organizer — not SignupView — decides what the sheet asks for. Typically that's your name, email address, and an optional note. Here is exactly what happens to it:

  • Your name (never your email) may be visible to other visitors on the public sheet, unless the organizer has hidden signup names.
  • The organizer can see your name, email, and note on their results page and in exports, and is responsible for how they use them.
  • We use your email only to serve the sheet: your signup includes a private manage link so you can change or cancel it, and if the organizer enables reminders, you'll get one email about the event you signed up for. No marketing, ever.
  • Pledges on goal blocks are records, not payments — SignupView never processes donations. If a sheet links to an outside donation service, that service's own policies apply.
  • Want a signup removed? Use your manage link, or contact the organizer — or email us and we'll help.

When we access or disclose your information

To provide the service you've requested. We use third-party subprocessors to run SignupView:

  • Supabasedatabase and authentication (data stored in the United States).
  • Vercelapplication hosting and privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics.
  • Stripepayment processing for Pro subscriptions.
  • Resendtransactional email (confirmations, reminders).
  • AnthropicAI responses for the in-app support assistant.

No SignupView human looks at your content except to help with a support case you open (with your permission), to fix an error that stops an automated process, or to investigate a report of abuse. We may also disclose information if compelled by U.S. legal process; our policy is to notify affected users before we disclose data unless we're legally prohibited from doing so.

We may use aggregated, de-identified data (for example, total signups across the service) for statistics and product decisions.

If SignupView is ever acquired by or merges with another company — we don't plan on it, but if it happens — we'll notify you well before any of your personal information is transferred or becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Your rights with respect to your information

We apply the same data rights to everyone, regardless of location. These include the rights to know what we collect (this policy), to access and correct your information (your account page), to export your data (CSV export on each sheet's results page), to erasure (delete your account yourself from the account page — everything goes with it), to object to or restrict processing, and to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

For anything you can't do self-service, email support@signupview.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

How we secure your data

All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser, and database backups are encrypted at rest. Access to production data is limited and authenticated.

What happens when you delete your account

Deleting your account (or a sheet) removes it from our production systems immediately — sheets, blocks, and signups included. Residual copies in encrypted backups expire within 30 days. Once that window passes, the data cannot be recovered.

Location of site and data

SignupView is operated in the United States and all data is stored in the United States. If you are located outside the U.S., any information you provide to us will be transferred to and stored in the U.S. By using SignupView and/or providing us with your personal information, you consent to this transfer.

Children's privacy

SignupView is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

California residents (CCPA notice)

California law asks us to spell out the categories of personal information we collect: identifiers (name, email), customer records (subscription status), internet activity (first-party product-usage events, aggregated analytics, and server logs), and the content you create or submit. We collect each of these to provide the service, communicate with you, secure the service, and comply with law — the purposes described above.

We do not sell or share your personal information as defined by the CCPA, we have not done so in the past 12 months, we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond permitted business purposes, and we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing (California's “Shine the Light” law). Your rights and how to exercise them are described in the rights section above.

Changes and questions

We may update this policy as needed to comply with regulations and reflect new practices. When we make a significant change, we'll refresh the date at the top of this page and notify account holders. Questions about this policy or your data? Email support@signupview.com and we'll be happy to help. Our Terms of Service and Fair Refund policy round out the picture.
