Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
Thank you for using SignupView! We build it to make organizing signups painless. Because we can't know every customer personally, we need some Terms of Service to keep things running smoothly for everyone.
When we say “SignupView”, “we”, “our”, or “us”, we mean SignupView and the services available at signupview.com. When we say “you”, we mean anyone with a SignupView account — usually an organizer publishing signup sheets. People who sign up on a sheet without an account are “guests”.
We may update these Terms in the future. When we make a significant change, we'll refresh the date at the top of this page and notify account holders. When you use SignupView, now or in the future, you're agreeing to the latest version of these Terms. These Terms contain a limitation of our liability.
Account terms
- You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. SignupView cannot and will not be liable for loss or damage from your failure to keep your credentials secure.
- You're responsible for all content posted under your account and for every sheet you publish — including what information your sheets ask guests to provide.
- You must be a human. Accounts registered by bots or other automated methods are not permitted.
Acceptable use
Don't use SignupView for anything unlawful, deceptive, or harmful. In particular:
- Don't collect information from guests beyond what your event genuinely needs, and never ask guests for passwords, government IDs, financial account numbers, or other sensitive personal information through a sheet.
- Don't use sheets to send spam, spread malware, harass people, or impersonate someone else.
- Goal blocks track pledges and may link to outside donation services. Be honest about where money goes; fraudulent fundraising will get your account terminated and reported to authorities where warranted.
We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We don't pre-screen content, but we reserve the right to refuse or remove any content available via the service.
Payment, refunds, and plan changes
- The free plan is really free: we don't ask for your card, and — same as for paying customers — we don't sell your data.
- Pro plans start with a free trial; we tell you its length when you subscribe. After the trial, your card is charged in advance on each billing cycle (monthly or yearly). Billing is handled by Stripe, and you can manage or cancel your subscription any time from your account page.
- If you cancel, Pro features remain active until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Your account and sheets are not deleted when you downgrade.
- Fees don't include taxes; where we're required to collect them, we will.
- Refunds are handled per our Fair Refund policy.
Cancellation and termination
- You can cancel your subscription from your account page, and you can delete your account entirely there too — no emails, no phone calls, no questions asked.
- Deleting your account permanently removes your sheets, blocks, and their signups from our production systems immediately. Residual copies in our encrypted backups expire within 30 days. We can't recover this data once it's gone, so export anything you need (CSV export is on each sheet's results page) before deleting.
- We have the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the service for violations of these Terms. Verbal, physical, written or other abuse of anyone working on SignupView will result in immediate account termination.
Modifications to the service and prices
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any part of the service with or without notice. If we ever change pricing for existing customers, we'll give at least 30 days notice to the email address on your account.
Uptime, security, and privacy
- Your use of the service is at your sole risk. We provide the service on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We don't offer a service-level agreement, but we take uptime seriously.
- We protect your data with encryption in transit, encrypted backups, and access controls. You agree that SignupView may process your data as described in our Privacy policy and for no other purpose. As humans, we access your data only to help with support requests you make, to fix errors that stop automated processes, to safeguard the service (for example, investigating an abuse report), or to the extent required by applicable law.
- We use third-party vendors to run the service; the full list is in our Privacy policy.
Copyright and content ownership
- Your sheets and their content belong to you. You give us a limited license to host and display them — that's the service — and we claim no ownership over your materials.
- All content posted to the service must comply with U.S. copyright law.
- SignupView owns all right, title, and interest in the service itself, including its design and code. You may not duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the service without our express written permission.
Features and bugs
We design SignupView with care, but no service pleases everybody, and — like any software — it inevitably has some bugs. We work through reported issues, prioritizing anything related to security or privacy, but we can't guarantee the service will meet your specific expectations or be completely error-free.
Liability
We mention liability throughout these Terms, but to put it all in one place:
You expressly understand and agree that SignupView shall not be liable, in law or in equity, to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, lost profits, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use or the inability to use the service; (ii) the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services; (iii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iv) statements or conduct of any third party on the service — including the content of sheets published by organizers and any transactions arranged through them; (v) or any other matter relating to these Terms or the service, whether as a breach of contract, tort (including negligence, whether active or passive), or any other theory of liability.
In other words: choosing to use SignupView means you're making a bet on us. We do our best to deserve it.
